Born and raised in Massachusetts, Dr. Nancy Monestime-Williams has lived in New York, Connecticut, and South Carolina but currently resides in Pennsylvania (Monroe County) with her husband, her two children, and her two dogs. Dr. Monestime-Williams went to Harvard University where she received her undergraduate degree in Biology while also studying the liberal arts. She then went to Columbia University’s School of Public Health where she obtained her Master’s Degree in Public Health with a focus on Sociomedical Science - Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. She spent some time working in school-based clinics and doing CDC research before going to medical school and then doing a Residency in Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Monestime-Williams is a local Pediatrician who, since adolescence, has been involved in serving her community. She has a particular interest in public health, minority health, and child/adolescent health. She is an active member of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She also serves as the Vice President and the Health Chair of her area’s NAACP branch.
Dr. Monestime-Williams is a first generation Haitian-American who takes pride in her culture. She is multilingual and, in addition to English, speaks French, Haitian Kreyol, and Spanish.
